Hart & Hickman is performing assessment and corrective action activities at a 500-acre site which is under both RCRA and CERCLA programs. The site s comprised of inactive manufacturing areas, administrative and storage facilities, an active wastewater treatment plant, and undeveloped land. H&H is performing groundwater monitoring, remediation system performance evaluations, RCRA permit application assistance, lagoon sludge closure pilot testing, former closed landfill cap maintenance, and RCRA Facility Investigation (RFI) work plans and implementation. H&H also assisted in the successful de-listing of the site from CERCLA. In addition, H&H assessed soil and groundwater contamination following the demolition of a multi-building laboratory complex and pilot plant located at the site and performed a PCB cleanup.
Hart & Hickman is also assisting in obtaining a Brownfields agreement as part of site redevelopment plans into a “green” industrial park that includes a biomass power plant among other industries. H&H is working with the property owner and redeveloper to complete environmental assessment and remediation activities and in obtaining the Brownfields Agreement.
