Hart & Hickman conducted a lead-based paint and asbestos survey on a shopping center slated for demolition in Manning, SC. The 100,000 sq ft shopping center occupied approximately 13 acres. H&H collected lead paint chip samples from various surfaces and no lead based paint was identified at greater than 0.5% lead. H&H also conducted an asbestos survey of the shopping center and found approximately 10,000 sq ft of asbestos containing floor tile. The developer was pleased with these results in that the cost to manage the asbestos-containing floor tile is low.
