Hart & Hickman was selected by a global leader in specialty chemicals to address mold-related issues and potential worker health concerns and to evaluate the potential for mold dispersion concerns prior to the demolition of former research and development (R&D) and quality control (QC) laboratories. The former R&D and QC laboratories were comprised of two separate buildings and contained multiple laboratories, offices, and storage spaces. With the exception of one active explosive testing laboratory, the former laboratories had been sealed-off for numerous years due to water intrusion issues and significant mold growth in the interior spaces of these buildings. Our services included conducting a visual mold survey and related mold sampling. Our pre-demolition management remedy allowed the client to safely address allergenic and toxic mold concerns prior to demolition of these buildings.
