Senior Environmental Consultant - 8 to 12 yrs experience - Charlotte, NC


Job Description:

Our diverse project base spans a variety of contaminant types, project types, assessment & remedial methods, and regulatory programs. Candidates will have opportunities in complex site assessment and remediation, remediation strategy and costing, in-situ remedies, vapor intrusion, Brownfields redevelopment, due diligence investigations, and facility compliance. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, execute and manage innovative assessment and remedial strategies
  • Design and implementation of site remediation systems with applications of conventional and innovative technologies
  • Develop & negotiate optimal solutions for our clients
  • Procure and direct site investigation and remediation subcontractors
  • Lead and design vapor intrusion assessment and remediation projects
  • Prepare Brownfields and due diligence project strategies
  • Prepare expert reports and conduct expert review of reports prepared by others
  • Develop relationships and mentor junior staff
  • Participate meaningfully in leadership & technical development as a student and as an instructor
  • Build a network of valuable contacts through client relationships, vendor relationships, and professional associations

The selected candidate will have task-level and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. Consistent with our business model, the selected candidate will also be expected to play a role in lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.


Preferred candidates will have a BS or MS in engineering, geology or environmental science and a minimum of eight years of related work experience for an environmental consulting firm. H&H prefers GPAs to be near or higher than 3.0 for the BS degree and 3.5 for the MS degree. Professional licensure, where applicable, is preferred. Excellent technical writing skills, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and outstanding engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities are required.
