Mid-Level Environmental Engineer or Geologist - 3 to 6 yrs Experience – Charlotte, NC


Job Description:

Candidates will have opportunities in complex site assessment and remediation, remediation strategy and costing, enhanced reductive dechlorination design for chlorinated solvent plumes, vapor intrusion, Brownfields Redevelopment, remediation system design, due diligence investigations, wetlands, asbestos, and facility compliance including stormwater and spill plans.

Responsibilities will vary depending on your engineering or geology academic background but will generally include the following:

  • Directing contamination assessment services, such as designing and implementing sampling plans
  • Preparing contaminated site remedial strategies, feasibility studies, cost studies, and regulatory reviews
  • Implementing innovative remediation technologies
  • Procuring and directing site investigation and remediation subcontractors
  • Leading and designing vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation projects
  • Preparing Brownfields and due diligence project strategies and conduct report reviews
  • Providing environmental compliance support for industrial clients
  • Preparing project documents including assessment plan, corrective action plans, remediation strategy letters and cost evaluations, permit applications, client correspondence, reports, proposals and cost estimates

Clients rely on H&H for the exceptional quality and readability of our deliverables; and we are looking for candidates who can deliver the same. Your writing expertise should include technical emails/memos, detailed cost proposals, work plans, and reports.

The selected candidate will have task-level and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, coordinating and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. Consistent with our business model, the selected candidate will also be mentored in lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.

Preferred candidates will have a BS or MS in and a minimum of three years of related, progressive work experience for an environmental consulting firm. Candidates should have a solid foundation in environmental consulting field skills and the beginning of office duties. H&H prefers GPAs to be near or higher than 3.0. Professional licensure, where applicable, or the ability to receive licensure is also preferred. Excellent technical writing skills, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and outstanding engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities are required.
